- The wall shelving is very firmly in place. While clearly designed for adults to place things, I wonder if it is possible to make it functional in any way for his toys and things? He is very familiar with the stepladder I use to get things from high shelves and he uses it often. Maybe a kid version?
- The one lighter colored wood bookshelf (closest to the corner) was mine as a child. It is very nice.
- The fire house tent is a favorite but it takes up space and isn't getting much love lately. It can be moved around the house, but this is the kind of thing a lofted bed could make space for. Not a necessity --- it goes up and down depending on what we have going on.

Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
