Contemporary Modern Office and Media Lounge Design
Project Description:
I am building a new addition and need help with the design. This room will be approximately 18X16 and I would like it to serve two purposes. The First would be as a home office but I would only like to take up a small portion of the room for the office. The second use of the space and the primary use would be as a media, entertainment, lounge space.
I envision a large sectional couch with an area for nice cozy lounge chairs to sip on a drink. I would like to put a pool table or Shuffle board in the space if possible. I really want the mood in the room to be low-light loungey feel with a big screen (built-in?) TV.
I am building this room from scratch so I would like to incorporate some built-in cabinets and other custom carpentry touches if possible. The room construction is in the design phase right now so any custom touches would be a big bonus.

Since your room is medium size using a dark and rich color will make it feel cozy, warm, and lounge-like
For your main color, we chose to use black because it is authoritative, sophisticated, and powerful. It is a good neutral counterpart to any other color. Black is best used in small doses as an accent and can help to give depth to a room as well as make a dramatic statement.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish
