For your main color, we chose to use white/off-white as it offers a fresh, clean, feel to the space. White and off-white colors are often a favorite for walls because they are light, neutral, and match most color schemes. They are known to make rooms feel more airy and spacious.
Use an eggshell finish paint which has a very light touch of shine (similar texture to an eggshell as implied by its name). This finish is very often used for walls and is more durable and easier to clean than matte finish

We would like to redecorate our four-year-old's room into a room he can grow into and not have to change until his teenage years. His favorite thing throughout his life has been traveling, especially to big cities (NYC is his favorite), so we'd like to have a big city/travel/airplane theme. He really wants bunkbeds, with at least a full on the bottom, if we can make that work in his room.
We need to stay under 10k (preferably less) including labor, such as painters, white glove delivery and setup, etc.
Henry’s room as-is consists of the remnants of his professionally-designed nursery from our old home, a borrowed bed, and blackout curtains from Amazon that only serve a purpose. It’s basically a makeshift room until we finished our first floor (we moved here in August 2022). So it’s not a resemblance of my style or what I think looks good!
The cubes his books are in are covering an empty fireplace. So we either need to get a new gas insert (and not hook it up), probably the same one we have downstairs, or get creative with that space.
I sent the photos from my phone and downgraded the size to “large.” If you prefer original let me know and I’ll upload better quality ones.
I assume someone will make sure my layout measurements add up, and let me know if I need to remeasure anything. It’s a hard room to draw as you can see.
