Minimalist Scandinavian Kitchen Inspiration
To give the designer a sense of her style and vision, the client provided a set of inspirational images. Among the kitchen design samples were bright and open rooms featuring clean lines and minimal adornments. Touches of nature also appeared throughout in wood, stone, and greenery accents. And so it was apparent the client’s heart was set on a minimalist Scandinavian kitchen.
Online Kitchen Design & Moodboard
With such a clear design direction provided by the client, it was easy to find a skilled designer who excelled in Scandi-style. In the end, it was the talent of Decorilla designer, Wanda P. that really spoke to the client.
To continue with the online interior design process, Wanda reviewed the clients must-haves and wish list to further define the details of the project. From there, she was able to present the initial design ideas in a moodboard.
The sophisticated simplicity of the arrangement certainly checked all the boxes. Wanda’s minimalist Scandinavian decor and kitchen design features muted grey cabinets, plenty of wood accents, and sleek white countertops. Not only does the style meet exactly what the client was looking for it also matches seamlessly with the rest of the open living space.
Minimalist Scandinavian Kitchen Design Results
Nothing stands in your way, in this Scandinavian minimalist kitchen. The traffic flow is natural and efficient. Simultaneously, the eye can roam equally freely, while taking in the cohesive Nordic aesthetic and harmony of the arrangement. White hues flow from the countertop to counter chairs and pendant lights, visually separating them from the soft grey cabinet fronts. Meanwhile, the solid ash wood in the island front, stool legs, and floating shelves connect the kitchen elements with the dining set.
One of the intriguing aspects of this minimalist Scandinavian kitchen design is the lack of upper cabinets. That was a strategic decision that added visual depth to the design and conveyed the illusion of more space. The effect was enhanced further by a thoughtful lighting scheme. Opting for a few floating shelves in place of the upper cabinets added storage space without making the room feel cramped.
The abundance of natural wood texture ensures that this bright and airy space doesn’t feel overly cold. In addition, playing with the shapes provides more visual depth. This is especially prominent in the choice of the dining table and its sculptural base. An X-shaped pedestal plays with the eye, attracting a lot of attention without overpowering the chairs and other elements.
The ample kitchen island delivers plenty of surface for all activities, from cooking, to conversing with company and enjoying a meal. At the same time, a lot of storage is hidden underneath. The wall niche next to the refrigerator provides even more room to store glassware, drinks, and more. Meanwhile its sliding door takes care of preserving the sleek, minimalist Scandinavian kitchen appeal.

And finally, a white glove concierge service will take care of the ordering and shipping, ensuring that you receive everything conveniently and on time.
