1. MIXED METALS

MIXED(pp_w720_h481)

There was once a time when matching metal finishes was a big design must-do. Now, more designers are finding that mixing metals rounds out a space in an intentionally interesting way. A room where brushed copper kitchen pendants hang with stools that show off shiny chrome legs is in! Gold tones in both furniture and accents like these pillows found on Zinc Door sit well with brass table lamps. This fall mix metals to your heart’s delight to bring a creative warm glow to your home.

Next, balance out the cold, industrial feel of your urban loft by using plenty of soft, cozy materials such as long, sheer flowing curtains, giant area rugs and plush throw pillows. Wall tapestries are a great way to add life to the bare brick and mortar.
