Describe your go-to style:
My go-to style is “transitional”, which is a marriage of timeless classical designs and the sophistication of contemporary designs. I like to combine completely different elements – contrasts in light and dark, scale in large and small – or even taking elements from different periods. My design approach is clean, clutter free, and warm.
What drives you to design?
I love experiencing and witnessing various flavors of architecture and design from different cultures and time. I enjoy admiring palace interiors that represent their glorious time, and adoring lavish hotel decorations. Being able to create memorable interior designs that truly reflect the occupant’s culture and persona is what drives me and gives me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
My favorite pastime is watching movies. I often pay closer attention to the set design rather than the dialog. Creative set designers can capture the character, period, story, etc. in great detail. Some set designs are magical and full of imagination, yet they are livable and functional in the movie. I also like to observe nature, as it has been said that nature never makes an aesthetic mistake. Both imaginative design sets and nature are where I often draw my design inspiration from.
