What drives you to design?
I so want to touch my clients' lives by giving them spaces for respite, rejuvenation, healing and fun. Their homes are sacred, and I feel very lucky to be invited into their lives.
Tell us your biggest design secret:
The purpose of designing a home is for it to be beautiful but I have learned to home in on how to communicate with each client. Some clients are more visual and need specific sketches to understand, some are auditory and need detailed explanations and then some are all about touching materials. While all three are required for a successful project, it is so important to communicate in each client's language.
From where do you draw most of your inspiration?
I love to travel every chance I get and interpreting discoveries into new designs. For example, I once used the idea of the placement of cornerstones of an ancient building into an architectural detail on an accent wall in a bedroom. But most of all, I love getting into the excitement and imagination that my clients have and running with it.
